Someone once told me that Greenville House may be the last home some tenants will have, therefore, we strive to provide a home that is clean, comfortable and best of all maintenance free!
With this in mind, Greenville House had a very busy 2019. The renovation of the laundry room was completed in January with a new color scheme, new flooring, an expanded library with new shelving for books, and the room was decorated with metal art. The tenants commented on how much they looked forward to what was being added next and enjoy doing laundry and visiting with their neighbors!
Additionally, we installed new dead bolt locks on each apartment and began to add new glass lighting in the dining/living rooms which will continue into 2020.
Greenville House completed some re-landscaping of the side yard this past summer. The 70 plus year-old, ornate, iron light posts had finally deteriorated to the point where we had to take them down for safety reasons. We were very fortunate to find similar light posts to put up with the new LED lighting.
We also added new benches, landscaping, resealed and stripped our parking lot and added plants to our new sign area. We will be adding some additional benches, some planters and a glider in the near future for the tenants.
Programming is an area that we are constantly working on for all 110 tenants of Greenville House. In the last year, the tenants enjoyed a picnic hosted by LIFE Mercer, a craft show hosted by Second Time Around Gardens, and the annual What’s Hot Sales for Christmas shopping.
Activities offered include Bingo twice weekly; the Wii Bowling League bowls twice a week; movies are held every Monday night; our exercise program, Zumba Chair, takes place once a month plus various speakers on a variety of topics.
A small food and medical pantry can be found in the manager’s office for the tenants to utilize. The annual Christmas party is always fun with a catered hot meal served by the staff, a gift for each tenant and door prizes! A puzzle is always being put together and on Sunday afternoons you may find a card game being played in the community room.
Greenville House closed out 2019 by receiving a 2019 Platinum Award for Outstanding Marketing and Communication Efforts from the Professional Affordable Housing Management Association at their Annual Housing Conference held in Seven Springs.
Greenville House is a community where you will meet new friends, visit with old friends, relive happy memories while making new memories to cherish. We would love to welcome you to our family!
